CAMOTES ISLAND (an island worth falling for) One more shot before summer ends, and my final stop before the rainy season arrives is the beautiful  Island of Camotes. I have been to several white sand beaches, but I now have my personal favorite  amongst all – CAMOTES! To tell you honestly, the word beautiful is an understatement. Up to this  writing, I still can’t put to exact words the beauty I just witnessed last weekend that every time I  remember it I just want to start racing my way back to the island. I can talk about how magically beautiful the island is endlessly, but words aren’t enough – you have to  see it for yourself and fall deeply in love with the place just like how I feel ATM. The island offers plenty  of places to discover, and it isn’t limited to beaches with pristine crystal clear waters and wide stretched  fine white sands. ZIP AWAY (Caputatan Norte, Medellin, Cebu) If you want a closer feels with nature then this place is surely a must visit! This is a government owned eco-park which provides some adrenaline rushing rides and activities for insanely super low fees. We arrived there at around 3 P.M. from Kawit, Medellin. It took us about 45 minutes to an hour from Kawit, and it was a little bumpy ride the moment we turned to that corner street going there. The view up there paid the price though as it was just scenic that I was lost for words for a few ticks! There were no other visitors when we arrived that for a short while it was like the place was exclusive for us. We relaxed, took photos, enjoyed the view and the fresh air of the province for a bit before engaging into their offered activities. FUNTASTIC ISLAND (Gibitngil Island, Medellin, Cebu) One of the most anticipated time of the year has finally arrived, and this time I am northbound! Summer, nowadays can either be both a blessing or a curse – depends on the eye of the beholder really – hahah! Due to the scorching heat summer brings, people tend to flock out from their comfort zones and go to some place that will ease the heat, at least, momentarily. Well, for people like us with very itchy soles there is really no season nor time, all we need is a location and off we go  (oh I forgot, money of course! Lol)! BLUE WATER RESORT - SUMILON ISLAND (Oslob, Cebu) As a year ender, we chose Sumilon Blue Water Resort – not too far from the City this time. It’s very easy to get there because of its accessibility. We catch an early bus ride at South Bus Terminal and got there in a span of three hours. We have a previous booking arranged prior our escapade, and we didn’t stay there overnight though as their overnight room rate is kinda expensive, so we opt for a Day Tour instead which I will go into detail of the inclusions later on. Their boat transfers from the mainland to the island are scheduled, and we were scheduled to sail at 8 A.M., so we took advantage of their complimentary drinks, relaxed and stretched a little bit – it was a 3 hour bus ride after all! Mambukal Resort (Murcia, Negros Occidental) To those who are looking for a place where you can relax and be one with mother nature, but enjoy at the same time- this place is one of the best choice you have around Negros Occidental! This a mountain resort located in the town of Murcia. One of the perks this place has to offer is that even though it’s a mountain resort, it is very accessible. It’s just one bus ride from Libertad public market in Bacolod, and presto- they stop at the very entrance of the resort! I have been to quite several mountain resorts before, but this place is extraordinary so far. If you want relaxation, you got it! Be that as it may, the resort has plenty of activities to offer. THE RUINS (Talisay City, Negros Occidental) The Ruins of Negros, also known as the Taj Mahal of Negros is truly a hidden gem I must say! From its well maintained luscious green lawn to the strong, fine and rigid structure of the Mansion as if telling its story of how it was able to endure the test of time. The Mansion was built in the late 1920s by sugar baron, Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson in honor to his first wife, Maria Braga, a Portuguese. In the early part of WWII, the Mansion was set on fire to avoid the Japanese from using it as their headquarters – and who knows what else the Mansion had witnessed in the past, right? All I know is that it was crafted lovingly, scrutinized from the tiniest to the grandest detail, because of his burning love for his late wife. All in all, the experience was amazing!
