BLUE WATER RESORT - SUMILON ISLAND

(Oslob, Cebu)

As a year ender, we chose Sumilon Blue Water Resort – not too far from the City this time. It’s very easy to get there because of its accessibility. We catch an early bus ride at South Bus Terminal and got there in a span of three hours. We have a previous booking arranged prior our escapade, and we didn’t stay there overnight though as their overnight room rate is kinda expensive, so we opt for a Day Tour instead which I will go into detail of the inclusions later on.

Their boat transfers from the mainland to the island are scheduled, and we were scheduled to sail at 8 A.M., so we took advantage of their complimentary drinks, relaxed and stretched a little bit – it was a 3 hour bus ride after all! Finally, it’s our turn to sail (yay!). The island isn’t that far from the mainland, and I would say that a very good swimmer can cross it in no time. It only took 10-15 minutes to get us there.

We were greeted by this!

Ahhhhh… BLUE WATER Resort (living up to its name, eh?)

The infinity pool AND Jaccuzi (and I died!)

Hammocks, hammocks, hammocks, relaxing hammocks!

Our Cottage, man made lagoon & the beach!

Overall, it was a nice experience especially when enjoyed with friends or family. Will I come back here? I sure will, only if it’s free though (lol)! On a more serious note, I really can’t say that it’s something I’d dreamily wish to come back to, but hey – that’s just my opinion though! Perhaps, I and my friends were just expecting a little bit more, like a long sand bar and a promised buffet style lunch, yep, you bet – it wasn’t! We were served a family style lunch! Not that it was bad, but we were just a little disappointed maybe because we were just too hungry then? – haha!

As for the inclusions:

Unlimited use of their infinity pool and mini Jacuzzis to the fullness of your heart
Kayaking at their man made lagoon
Lunch
Cottage usage
Boat transfers (to & fro)
Trekking
Snorkeling

Day tour cost: 1,500 during weekdays and 2,000 during weekends/holidays. Rates are subject to change without further notice. You may want to contact them first to arrange your day tour and for boat transfers schedule. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
