El Nido

El Nido

When you think of Palawan, what comes to mind? I think we all have the same thoughts – PARADISE! Palawan has so much to offer that going there just once is certainly not enough. In this blog, I am going to focus more on one of the famous tourist destination in Palawan, El Nido!

El Nido is known for its white-sand beaches, beautiful coral reefs, islets, and amazing rock formations! There may be a whole lot of places that offers almost the same attributes as El Nido, but I tell you that El Nido is worth a visit and should be added to every traveler’s bucket list. The most famous activity in El Nido is island hopping. I have been to countless island hopping in my life and we all know that it can really get boring sometimes until you have reached your destination. El Nido made a difference this time around. As you go on your tour you will be greeted by beautiful rock formations that you cannot help, but get up no matter how bumpy the boat ride can be and just snap that camera button and take photos endlessly. There can be other activities too, but the island hopping shouldn’t be missed.

There is no single island we have visited that we did not enjoy snorkeling. The marine life is such a show-off that it can get addicting to just free dive or snorkel the whole time – LOL. You can also enjoy kayaking especially when you visit small lagoon, cadlao lagoon, and big lagoon.

I don't want to overwhelm you with too many photos because you really have to see the places for yourself so here're a few photos of some of the islands we visited.

How to get there? There are several entries, but as for us our entry point is in Puerto Princesa and then a 5-6 hours van ride from PPS to El Nido. How to go around El Nido? It is better if you have booked with a legit travel agency like what we did, but there are also several agencies around town that offers island hopping and other activities so you can choose when you get there or you can book ahead of time. I am a thrifty traveler, hence the name of my site. However, this trip can be a bit costly (this is from a thrifty person’s point of view) I must say so I’d say you need to be ready both financially and physically.

Overall, 4D3N Palawan tour was totally worth it. We stayed 3D2N in El Nido and 1N and half day in PPS for a city tour. We will definitely be back for more and I cannot wait for our next adventure in Palawan.

To God be the Glory!
