SYDNEY

SYDNEY AUSTRALIA

This to date, is the farthest I have been to in my travels. This though, is a bit different as this is a “workation” trip. This is also my first travel abroad. This is indeed a very big blessing to begin with as not only am I able to visit Sydney and see the harbor bridge and opera house live and all the other attractions, but I am also able to visit this beautiful country for FREE! Yes – absolutely FREE! How GREAT is our GOD! As I’ve mentioned above, this is a “workation” type of trip. It’s not everyday that you get a chance to visit AU for free so the explorer in me was so ready – after all, I had two weekends to roam around Sydney.

We boarded an 8-9 hour flight from Manila to Sydney via PAL and arrived at around 9AM Sydney time. To those who do not know, they are 3 hours advance from Php time during their DST from Nov-April and will go back to their standard time from May-October which then will make them 2 hours advance from our time. This is, except for Western Australia though as they are of the same time zone as Php.

From the airport, took the train that will take us to North Sydney as this is where our hotel is located. We stayed at The McLaren Hotel which is only about a 5-minute walk to our office. It was such a beautiful, sunny and breezy Saturday when we arrived so we didn’t waste our time and started the stroll right after freshening up at the hotel.

Places you can visit to give you a better view and the “AUSTRALIA feels” of course:

*Bondi Beach

-just a train away (depends where you are coming from though) and then a bus ride to take you to the beach.

*Manly Beach

-take a ferry from Circular Quay (you can choose for the normal ferry which will take around 30 minutes or the fast craft). I prefer the normal one though as it will let you savor the views especially if it is your first time.

*Parks everywhere!

-There are plenty of parks all around Sydney. Every suburb is required by the government to have their respective "park" for families to have a place to gather around especially during weekends. If I were to mention a few that is within Sydney, you may visit Hyde Park and Royal Botanic Gardens.

*Sydney Tower, Museums and Zoos

-There are plenty of deals online where you can purchase entrance tickets ahead of time to avoid the long queue of buying tickets and another long queue to enter these attractions.

These are just a few photos from my recent visit. I will leave all to your imagination the even more picturesque views and places Sydney has to offer! It was a little scary knowing that this is my first time to travel abroad especially knowing this is a huge city I am visiting. It was only a "little" scary because I know for a fact that as long as you know how to read and write, you will never get lost. It also gives me a comfort knowing that this is an English speaking country so I am confident I will be able to communicate should the need arise. LOL.

I do hope you find this blog somewhat helpful in your future plans to visit the land down under. Tell me about it and feel free to ask questions.

Glory be to God!
