Mambukal

Mambukal Resort (Murcia, Negros Occidental) To those who are looking for a place where you can relax and be one with mother nature, but enjoy at the same time- this place is one of the best choice you have around Negros Occidental! This a mountain resort located in the town of Murcia. One of the perks this place has to offer is that even though it’s a mountain resort, it is very accessible. It’s just one bus ride from Libertad public market in Bacolod, and presto- they stop at the very entrance of the resort! I have been to quite several mountain resorts before, but this place is extraordinary so far. If you want relaxation, you got it! Be that as it may, the resort has plenty of activities to offer. Below is a photo of their most recently updated tariff with the list of activities they have and their reasonable fees. In our one day stay at Mambukal we were able to enjoy almost all of their fun activities. We went there last October 2 of this year – just in ti

The Ruins

THE RUINS (Talisay City, Negros Occidental) The Ruins of Negros, also known as the Taj Mahal of Negros is truly a hidden gem I must say! From its well maintained luscious green lawn to the strong, fine and rigid structure of the Mansion as if telling its story of how it was able to endure the test of time. The Mansion was built in the late 1920s by sugar baron, Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson in honor to his first wife, Maria Braga, a Portuguese. In the early part of WWII, the Mansion was set on fire to avoid the Japanese from using it as their headquarters – and who knows what else the Mansion had witnessed in the past, right? All I know is that it was crafted lovingly, scrutinized from the tiniest to the grandest detail, because of his burning love for his late wife. All in all, the experience was amazing! As if I was transported back in time. It was a heady feeling to have stepped foot on the place and to have touched some parts of the

Maravilla Beach

Maravilla Beach (Tabuelan, Cebu) For this year's summer escapade, I've been to this beautiful place. Nope, this isn't a new place to me because I have been coming back here for what seems like forever. I have been here for many times already, but ironically it isn't on my blog yet. It maybe because I am too selfish to share my “self-claimed” paradise. Tabuelan is a municipality in the north, and this is the town you get to passed by prior San Remigio. Tabuelan is a small town composed of twelve barangays. As for me, the barangay that has the most beautiful white sand beach is Maravilla. It happened to be the specific barangay my mother-in-law used to live in her younger years so it's the family vacation destination most of the time. Maravilla by the way is the last barangay of Tabuelan before your enter the town of San Remigio. There are no particular resorts in Maravilla, but some neighboring barangays have. I don't want to be biased, but I must say

DUMAGUETE & MANJUYOD SANDBAR

Image
City of Dumaguete ( Manjuyod sandbar @ Bais City) Welcome to the beautiful city of motorbikes! Nah... that's just a joke (half meant though. LOL). Half meant because according to a friend of mine way back my college days who lives in Dumaguete, you're most famous when riding a motorbike than a luxurious car. Anyway, let's jump to a proper introduction of the place. This is a city in the Philippine province of Negros Oriental. Silliman University is the most famous & biggest University (oldest too if I'm not mistaken) in Dumaguete.   The famous Rizal Boulevard! A basic means of trasportation in the City is a tricycle. Now here's what impressed me a lot, all of their tricycles have trash bin attached to them. I asked one driver and he told me that it's a city requirement to promote cleanliness in their city. If they violate this rule, they will be paying a fine of 200 Php (ugh! I wish every city i

Siquijor Island

Image
Siquijor Island (Isla del Fuego) Popularly known as “Siquijor”! A tranquil island province of the Philippines located in the region of Central Visayas. It was during the Spanish colonial epoch that they dubbed the island isla del fuego , because from afar it looked like ablaze. Little did they know that what seemed to have been burning fiercely was produced by a massive group of fireflies inhabiting the island. Hence, gaining its moniker from the Spaniards “ Isla del Fuego” or “Island of Fire” . The province is not very much known for their history, but mainly for its creepy reputation. It is believed that Siquijor is a home for sorcerers, shamans, and all that kind of entities. That is one reason why some people wouldn't dare to visit the place. As for me, I pity them because they just simply let their chance slip away to visit one of the Philippines' gem. As a year-ender, I and some of my friends decided to visit this beautiful island. Our
